Questions from practices
The answers we would want before handing a day to somebody we had not met. Working per diem? Your questions are here.
- Are these professionals contractors or employees?
- Copy pending review — this is with our attorney for Nevada specifically, and we would rather say so than give you an answer we might have to correct.
- How do you check credentials?
- Every professional uploads their documents and a human reviews them. Nevada issues no dental assistant registration, so for assistants the required set is photo ID, current CPR/BLS and radiography training documentation — and nobody without them can claim your shift at all.
- What if nobody claims it?
- You are not charged, and we will tell you what is holding it up — usually the rate against the going band, or a shift posted too close to the day.
- Can I ask for the same person again?
- Yes. Mark them a favourite and they get a head start on your next shift before it goes to the wider bench.
- What does it cost?
- A flat $50 per shift for a dental assistant or front desk, and 17% of gross for a hygienist. There is no card fee, no subscription and no placement fee. The fee is shown next to the total before you post, and the live card is on the pricing page.
- When am I actually charged?
- After you approve the hours — or automatically 48 hours after the shift ends if nobody has approved them. Nothing is collected when you post, and a shift nobody claims costs you nothing.
- How are the hours worked out?
- From the professional's clock-in and clock-out at your practice, rounded to the nearest quarter hour, with a two-hour minimum for anybody who turns up. If the hours look wrong you can adjust them or raise a dispute instead of approving.
- What if I have to cancel?
- Cancelling with more than 24 hours' notice costs nothing. Inside 24 hours, the professional is paid two hours at their rate — they turned down other work for your day. We take none of that; it goes to them.
- What if the professional cancels on me?
- The shift is reposted to the bench immediately and marked urgent, and we tell you it is being re-filled rather than leaving you to find out. Late cancellations and no-shows count against a professional's standing, and three of them pauses their account.
- What if their licence expires before my shift?
- They stop being eligible for it, and we act before the day rather than on it: outside 48 hours from the start the chair is released and reposted automatically, and inside 48 hours a person here calls it. A credential lapse is not counted against the professional — a licence expiring is paperwork, not somebody letting you down.
- Can I hire somebody permanently?
- Yes, and it costs nothing. There is no placement fee, no conversion fee and no notice period to buy out. If somebody is a fit for your practice, that is the system working.
- Where do you operate?
- Las Vegas, and only Las Vegas. When there is a second market it will have its own board and its own rate bands, and we would rather say one than imply forty.
