Questions from professionals
Money, paperwork and standing — the three things worth knowing before your first shift. Booking a chair instead? Your questions are here.
- Am I an employee or a contractor?
- Copy pending review. Ask us before your first shift and we will tell you exactly how this market is set up.
- When do I actually get paid?
- When the practice approves your hours, or automatically 48 hours after your shift ends if they have not. Payouts go to the account you connect during setup.
- Can my pay be taken back after a shift?
- No. Once you're paid for a shift, that money is yours — corrections never come out of your pay. If hours are disputed and settled downward afterwards, that is refunded to the practice from our side, not clawed back from you.
- What if I have to cancel?
- Copy pending review. Cancelling well ahead of a shift is fine; cancelling inside 24 hours or not turning up counts against your standing.
- Who sets the rate?
- The practice posts a rate, and you only see shifts at or above the minimum you set. We show practices the going rate for the role so the number is not a guess.
- What do I need to upload?
- Your state licence or registration number and a photo of the licence itself, current CPR/BLS certification, radiography certification if your role needs it, and a government photo ID. Nevada issues no dental assistant registration, so for assistants the required set is the ID, current CPR/BLS and radiography training documentation. A human reviews each one.
- What happens as a credential gets close to expiring?
- Two things, and both are about not being surprised. Shifts ending within 10 days of your expiry stop appearing for you, because a shift you cannot legally work is not an offer. And renewals are due 15 days before anything expires — miss that and new offers pause until you upload one. Uploading lifts the pause straight away; you do not wait for us to review it.
- What if something expires while I already hold a shift?
- The shift is released and re-filled if there is time, or a person here calls you if there is not. It does not count against your standing — a licence expiring is not the same as letting a practice down — and you are eligible again the moment the new document is verified.
- What actually counts against me?
- Cancelling inside 24 hours of a shift you accepted, and not turning up. Three of those pauses your account until we talk. Nothing else does: not turning down offers, not how many shifts you take, and not a credential that expired.
- What if the practice cancels on me?
- Inside 24 hours of the start you are paid two hours at your rate, and we do not take a cut of it. Further out than that, the shift simply comes off your calendar.
- Who can see my documents?
- You and the people here who verify them. They are stored in a private bucket, handed out only through links that expire in ten minutes, and no practice ever sees them — a practice sees that you are cleared for the role, not the paperwork behind it.
- Does it cost me anything?
- No. Our fee is charged to the practice. Your rate is your rate, and nothing is deducted from it.
